The day started out as any normal one for Eloise. She went to school, came home, did her homework, and ate dinner. But later on that night, Eloise went through her closet. "Look!" Eloise exclaimed to her mother, "An old toy phone from when I was little! Surely it must still work!" So Eloise pressed some buttons and that girl who would always talk, did. "Hey there, let's be best friends!" the voice would say. As the night went on, Eloise and her mother finished cleaning out her closet and got ready for bed.
"Oh mother, I love that play phone! Please put it back into my closet!" Eloise begged. "Oh, all right," her mother said with a smile. So her mother threw the phone back into the closet. "Goodnight, Mother," Eloise said. "Goodnight, Eloise," her mother replied, then hugged her. And her mother left the room, closed the door, and turned the lights out.
